ASN Cold Start is an ammonium sulphate nitrate product. It contains both quick-acting nitrate-nitrogen and the slower acting ammonium-nitrogen. Extensive worldwide research has demonstrated superior plant performance where both these forms of nitrogen are present in a fertiliser, compared to either form used alone. ASN contains 26% nitrogen and 14% sulphur. It is a granular product with 85% of the granules being between 2.0 and 5.0 mm in diameter. The bulk density of ASN Cold Start is 0.95 tonne/cubic metre.
ASN Cold Start is immediately effective in cool weather, and is an ideal nitrogen fertiliser to use on cereals, pasture, hay and silage crops. When used as a top-dressing for pasture, either in spring or autumn, ASN Cold Start is typically broadcast at rates of 125-150 kg/ha. It may also be used when new pastures are being sown.
ASN Cold Start can be applied to cereal crops, both in early and mid season. When applied at drilling or during early tiller development, ASN Cold Start is usually used at rates of 150-200 kg/ha. Similar rates are used when the product is applied during stem elongation.
When you want the benefits of two forms of nitrogen, plus the advantages offered by the volatilisation inhibitor, Agrotain, then SustaiN Cold Start is the ideal choice to make. This product is suited to use in winter and spring growing conditions, and the ratio of ASN to SustaiN can be altered to create the best blend for your farm.
