Doing business with us

We believe in managing the application of nutrients to farmland in a way that encourages productive, profitable farming and is sustainable in the long term. To ensure that your fertiliser and animal nutrition programme is designed to deliver exactly what your farm needs, we have a nationwide team of specialists willing and able to visit you on your farm. By visiting your farm, your Altum sales consultant is able to build an in-depth understanding of your production expectations, as well as your farm’s limitations and opportunities. They will then incorporate this information into your fertiliser programme, which limits the risk of over- or under-supply of nutrients, helping to maximise both your profitability and sustainability.

It is policy that all our commercial farmer clients are offered ‘on-farm’ technical advice to ensure that the fertiliser programme you choose is able to support both optimum production and environmental protection. In particular, we have a strong focus on monitoring soil and pasture nutritional status through a programmed testing approach.

Once the results of your soil and herbage tests have been received, we will re-visit you on farm to discuss the outcome and prepare a fertiliser programme that is sympathetic to your production expectations. This personal service means that your sales consultant is alert to ways of reducing your fertiliser costs, increasing productivity, improving animal health and protecting your environment.

Our customers purchase fertiliser and animal nutrition products direct from us by setting up an account, a relatively simple process that can be carried out by our customer services team, or sometimes by your sales consultant. A credit check is required, and this is generally completed in less than three working days.

Customers have several options when it comes to placing an order – you can talk direct to your sales consultant or, if you have received a recommendation and know what you want to order, contact our customer services team on 0800 784 674.
